Soft on the inside with a golden, salty exterior, these Soft Pretzel Bites are a crowd-pleasing snack ideal for sharing any time you’re craving something warm and delicious. Made with our Organic Bread Flour, they have a tender interior and classic pretzel texture that pairs perfectly with your favorite cheese sauce or dip.
Ingredients
Dough
- 3 cups Farm2Flour Bread Flour
- 1 cup warm water (105–110°F)
- 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Baking Soda Bath
- 8 cups water
- ½ cup baking soda
Topping
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing after baking)
- Coarse pretzel salt
Directions:

Bloom the Yeast: In a large bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for about 5 minutes, until foamy.

Mix Dough Ingredients: Stir in the melted butter and salt. Add the flour and mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead: Knead the dough by hand for 6–8 minutes (or 5 minutes in a mixer) until smooth and elastic. Dough should be soft and slightly tacky, not sticky.

Rest the Dough: Cover and let the dough rest for 15 minutes.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 425°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Shape: Divide dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about ½–¾ inch thick. Cut into 1-inch bites.

Baking Soda Bath: Bring the water to a boil. Slowly add the baking soda. Boil pretzel bites for 20–30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon and place on prepared baking sheets.

Salt: Sprinkle the boiled pretzel bites evenly with coarse pretzel salt.
- Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes, until deep golden brown.
- Finish: Brush hot pretzel bites with melted butter. Serve warm with your favorite cheese sauce or dip.
